Visitors with disabilities
The Musée Bourdelle welcomes and supports all visitors with disabilities, in both the permanent collections and temporary exhibitions.
For all visitors
Free admission to temporary exhibitions — upon presentation of proof of disability — as well as for one accompanying person.
For groups
The Visitor Outreach department offers tailored cultural activities for groups, with mediation adapted to each type of disability — whether physical, sensory, or intellectual. These activities can be arranged for groups of adults, children, or families.
All group activities must be booked in advance with the Visitor Outreach department.
Bookings for groups of visitors with disabilities, including self-guided visits, must be made at least one month before the desired date with the Visitor Services department. A confirmation letter will be sent by email to the group leader. This document must be printed and presented at the museum ticket desk on the day of the visit.
All booking cancellations must be made at least 48 hours before the scheduled activity. If a cancellation is made less than 48 hours before the scheduled activity, the full fee will be charged.

Hearing disabilities
For all hearing-impaired visitors with hearing aids equipped with a telecoil ("T" setting), the museum ticket desk is fitted with an induction loop amplifier. A telephone handset on the device also allows communication with visitors who do not use hearing aids.
Intellectual disabilities
Guided tours can be organised upon request with the Visitor Outreach department.
The museum regularly welcomes groups of children and adolescents with intellectual disabilities for one-off activities or ongoing projects.
The museum team, including educators and visual arts practitioners, are trained in welcoming and supporting visitors with intellectual disabilities, both children and adults.
Motor disabilities
The Musée Bourdelle is accessible to visitors with reduced mobility.
- A wheelchair is available free of charge for visitors who have difficulty moving around. The wheelchair is available without reservation and may be requested from museum staff upon arrival.
- Mobile folding seats are also freely available at the museum reception desk at no charge.
Antoine Bourdelle's painting studio is the only room in the museum that is not accessible to visitors with reduced mobility, due to the presence of several steps. This space is equipped with a compensatory device in the form of a digital tablet offering a virtual tour of the room. These digital tablets are available free of charge at the museum ticket desk.
This guide is built around a tablet with two sections to better reveal the central role of the painting studio in Antoine Bourdelle's life:
- A 360° virtual tour of the room, featuring thirteen clickable points of interest. Each point of interest is organised thematically, highlighting the significance of objects collected or sourced by the artist, as well as works displayed in the room, created by him or by other artists. Each point of interest includes an audio commentary and its transcription, as well as full-screen access to a selection of works in the room.
- A family photo album, divided into five chapters corresponding to key stages in Bourdelle's personal life in his Montparnasse studios. A selection of photographs of the artist and his family accompanies an audio narration recounting the artist's private life and work, from his arrival in 1885 to his death in 1929.
The tablet offers two navigation modes:
- Manual mode for free exploration, with direct access to chapters and points of interest.
- Automatic mode requiring minimal interaction while covering all the tablet's content, for greater ease of use.
Visual disabilities
For all visitors
Guide dogs and assistance dogs are welcome at Musée Bourdelle.
In partnership with Souffleurs de Sens – Groupe SOS Solidarité, all City of Paris museums offer the Souffleurs d'Images("Image Whisperers") service. This programme enables blind and visually impaired visitors to enjoy the visit or cultural event of their choice, whenever they wish. A volunteer souffleur("whisperer"), themselves an art student or practising artist, describes and whispers to the visitor the elements that are invisible to them. The service is free of charge for the visitor, who need only pay for their museum admission ticket and book their session with the Souffleurs d'Images("Image Whisperers") service.
Information and booking (recommended 15 days before the activity)- By phone: +33 (0)6 40 65 69 38 or By email: souffleursdimages@souffleursdesens.org.

Musée Bourdelle welcomes visually impaired visitors for tactile tours with audio description. Led by one of the museum's educators, participants discover a selection of original bronze works and explore Bourdelle's sculpture through touch. Gloves are provided for participants during these activities. For children, teenagers and adults
